Web Industries, Inc., a global leader in flexible material converting, has announced the recent acquisition of two W&H Astraflex 8-color central impression flexographic presses for its facility in Fort Wayne, IN. Featuring state-of-the-art quality control and defect detection equipment, these 64” wide printing assets join the company’s existing high-speed, wide-width converting capabilities to offer large format spooling, large outside diameter (OD) slitting, and wide-web multi-color printing services under one roof. With the addition of these presses, consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies will benefit from Web’s capability to provide visually appealing graphics with the assurance of defect-free products. Web Fort Wayne provides large format converting of nonwovens and films utilizing some of the world’s largest, most sophisticated slitting and spooling lines. Adding wide-width multi-color printing to this location further leverages Web’s existing capacity, capabilities, and knowledge base to offer the CPG market a unique set of collocated services independent of material supplier choice. Sourcing these services from a single location gives customers the opportunity to enhance their products with distinctive graphics while improving costs and manufacturing efficiencies. “Increasingly, consumer product companies are turning to multi-color printing to help differentiate their brands in the marketplace,” says Kevin Young, VP of Corporate Development at Web Industries. “At the same time, they have to control product costs. Web Industries supports both of those objectives by bringing multi-color printing to the other large format converting services that Web Fort Wayne performs. This allows us to offer economies of scale that others cannot match.” The acquisition of these printing assets continues Web’s focus on meeting the emerging needs of the CPG market through investment in and development of the technologies, capacity, and capabilities that market leaders are looking for. Backed by nearly five decades’ experience working with nonwovens, films and papers, foils, custom laminates, and foams, Web is dedicated to creating optimized flexible material processing solutions that deliver converted product in the format of choice for efficient, cost-effective downstream product manufacturing.
